Desirie Dougall Named Restorative Care Program Director

Desirie Dougall named Restorative Care Program Director in non-profit’s efforts to provide long-term restorative care for survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

HOUSTON (May 2019)—Elijah Rising, a faith-based organization with a mission to end sex trafficking through prayer, awareness, intervention, and restoration, has named Desirie Dougall Program Director for the upcoming launch of their restorative care program.

Desirie has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in providing restorative care and working with women who have survived commercial sexual exploitation through her work with Redeemed Ministries. Since 2010, she has served at various capacities, such as providing direct survivor care as a case manager, experience in outreach, community partnership development, and most recently serving as Chief Operations Officer. “I’m really excited about joining Elijah Rising and working on providing the highest quality, most comprehensive restoration care to survivors possible,” said Desirie.

Elijah Rising was founded in 2012 as a prayer meeting, and later expanded to providing community awareness, direct outreach to women trapped in the sex industry, and now long term restorative care. Elijah Rising’s Restorative Care Campus is located on 84 acres in rural Fort Bend County, and features multiple residential homes for the program.

“Desirie Dougall comes with Redeemed Ministry’s blessing to begin a new chapter in her aftercare experience at Elijah Rising.  With over 9 years experience in building a restorative program and executing therapeutic aftercare, Desirie will be an incredible asset to the Elijah Rising team,” said Elijah Rising Executive Director Micah Gamboa.
